Product Overview

Nano PU Gel Tape is different from a thin double sided film tape. It has a soft, elastic PU gel adhesive tape structure that gives the material thickness, cushioning, and surface contact, not only bonding strength. Compared with standard transparent gel tape, this product is more focused on controlled thickness, elastic recovery, and clean converting performance. During sample checks on smooth glass, PET, PC, acrylic, and coated metal, the PU gel surface shows good wet-out after light pressure, especially where small surface gaps need better contact.

For production use, the tape can be made as gel roll stock for slitting, narrow rolls for dispensing, or die cut gel pads for faster assembly. In our internal incoming checks, 1.0 mm material is commonly controlled within +/-0.08 mm, and 2.0 mm material is commonly controlled within +/-0.12 mm, depending on liner type and order structure. For spacer pads, clear bumpers, and cushioning gasket parts, uneven thickness can change assembly height, edge contact, and compression pressure.

 Benefits

  • Soft PU gel body: Reduces hard contact points and helps protect smooth decorative or functional surfaces.
  • Clear appearance: Works well for visible bonding areas, display edges, acrylic parts, glass parts, and clear pads.
  • Better surface contact: The gel can wet out small gaps under light pressure and improve real contact on smooth surfaces.
  • Elastic recovery: The gel layer can return close to its original shape after short compression, helping maintain cushion height.
  • Thickness control: Typical checks on 1.0 mm and 2.0 mm materials help keep spacing, cushioning, and contact pressure more consistent.

What makes PU gel suitable for die-cut pads and gasket parts?

A soft PU gel adhesive tape is useful for die cut gel pads, soft spacers, anti-slip strips, and transparent gasket pieces because it combines adhesion with a flexible gel body. In die cutting, the important details are not only shape and size. Edge cleanliness, gel overflow control, liner release stability, and thickness tolerance all affect final part quality. A small gel pad should release from the liner smoothly without stretching or leaving uneven edges. If the liner is too tight, small parts may deform during picking. If it is too loose, parts may shift during handling.

How is Nano PU Gel Tape different from ordinary double sided tape?

Nano PU Gel Tape has a thicker, softer, and more elastic adhesive body than ordinary film-based double sided tape. A thin tape mainly bonds two flat surfaces, while PU gel adhesive tape also provides cushioning, wet-out, and height control. Compared with common transparent gel tape, this material is better suited for thickness stability, elastic recovery, and conversion into small pads or strips. In real production, thickness tolerance, liner release, and gel edge behavior often matter more than simple initial tack. It is not recommended for rough, dusty, powder-coated, oily, or low-energy surfaces without testing, but it performs well when smooth surface contact and gel flexibility are the main requirements.

FAQ

  1. Can Nano PU Gel Tape be supplied in roll and pad formats?

Yes. It can be supplied as gel roll stock, slit rolls, die cut pads, strips, and gasket shapes depending on the assembly process.

  1. What should be checked before bulk production?

Check thickness tolerance, surface compatibility, liner release force, edge cleanliness, gel overflow, and compression recovery. These points affect pad shape, assembly height, and final contact pressure.

  1. Is the tape suitable for rough walls or dusty surfaces?

It is mainly recommended for smooth, clean surfaces. Rough, dusty, oily, or textured surfaces should be tested first because dust and low surface energy can reduce wet-out.

  1. Can the tape be adjusted for automatic assembly?

Yes. Width, length, liner type, pad size, strip shape, kiss-cut layout, and roll format can be adjusted for converting and assembly needs.
